•Melissae Bee Ritual Candle Offering•
“There are certain holy ones, sisters born, three virgins gifted with wings: their heads are besprinkled with white meal, and they dwell under a ridge of Parnassus. These are teachers of divination apart from me, the art which I practiced while yet a boy following herds, though my father paid no heed to it. From their home they fly now here, now there, feeding on honeycomb and bringing all things to pass. And when they are inspired through eating yellow honey, they are willing to speak truth; but if they be deprived of the gods' sweet food, then they speak falsely, as they swarm in and out together.”

The Melissae whisper upon the wind, and through the veil-winged breath lent from the bee, their wisdom can be heard. Just as the bees are divine messengers, as are the ones who tend to them. The Melissae: they are always there, waiting to be seen, heard, and venerated once more. Can you hear the call of the Bee Priestesses? They carry the honey laced messages from the Bee Goddesses such as Aphrodite, Rhea, Hathor, Demeter, Cybele, and Artemis.
Your ritual candle has been rolled in herbs of Lavender, Rose, Chamomile, and Elder flower from my Witch Garden. Each candle stands 5 1/2" inches tall and 1' thick.
•Melissae Ritual•
With honey sweetened lips, light your candle. Speak your chosen words to awaken the priestesses of the past to hear your call. They await with truth to you request. As you focus on the flame, speak aloud that you have left an offering for the Melissae Priestesses. As you drift into your trance, focus on the flame as it flickers back and forth. It is in the liminal space of flame and lent breath that will reveal what the Melissae have to share with you. It could come as a feeling, or a swift vision. Either way, have a journal nearby.
This is a short hymn that I wrote for an example. Feel free to expand upon it or create your own hymn to these sacred priestesses.

Almost every culture has venerated the Bee and connected the divine feminine aspect to the sweet nectar of honey. Bees symbolize wisdom, growth, prosperity, abundance, nourishment, and so much more. The symbiotic relation between humans and bees is a vital one that we are losing touch with. We are responsible for their well-being, as they are the ones that keep nature flourishing. It is a relationship that needs to be re-established and re-nourished in order for both of our species to thrive.
Every year I plant more and more bee attracting plants, and eventually I will keep my own bees to help them thrive in this world. They need us now more than ever to stop using man made poison in the garden, they need us to plant flowers and trees that will nourish them, that eventually nourish us. Crops sprayed with chemicals are slowly killing bees, so buy organic and pesticide free, for them, and for you.
Sign the petitions to stop the use of harmful chemicals in the food industry. If you can, take on the divine task of being a bee steward. Support those that ethically support bees, such as your local bee and honey farms. All offerings made with honey and beeswax at Moon Goddess Magick Apothecary are ethically sourced from local beekeepers. Supporting them is to support the bee population, which then circles back around. Plant bee friendly flowers in your backyard. May it Bee that they continue to thrive.
At the end of each month, 10% of the earnings from The Melissae candles will be donated to https://www.beegirl.org/ and another 10% will be used to purchases bee friendly flora for my backyard. A $12.00 donation has already been made begin this offering.
